Drugmaker Alkem Laboratories has reported a cyber security incident at its subsidiary Enzene Biosciences. The incident resulted in a fraudulent transfer of funds, it added.
Giving details on the incident, Alkem told the stock exchanges, “business email IDs of certain employees at the US subsidiary (of Enzene) were compromised. The incident resulted in a fraudulent transfer of funds. The quantum of funds that have been subject to this cyber security incident is currently under investigation,” it said.
Enzene has employed independent external agencies to investigate the incident, the company said, adding that they would “conduct a thorough investigation of the incident and submit their report to the board of directors of Enzene and the company.”
Further, it said, the company was in the process of filing complaints with concerned governmental and regulatory authorities.
