India’s ITeS sector set for 20% growth in job opportunities, report finds

India’s ITeS sector is set for strong growth, with new job opportunities projected to increase by 20 per cent in 2025, said an Instahyre report. It highlights that roles in AI, cybersecurity, and cloud computing are expected to witness a 75 per cent surge, driven by the rising adoption of emerging technologies.

The ‘Instahyre Tech Salary Index 2025,’ noted that the gig economy and remote work models also play a crucial role in shaping the sector’s growth, contributing to an estimated 10 per cent growth.

Looking ahead, the product sector is expected to experience a fresher hiring rebound, with 1.5 to 2 million fresh graduates with new-age tech skills anticipated to enter the workforce. Tier-2 cities like Chandigarh, Jaipur, and Indore are emerging as growing tech hubs, attracting talent beyond traditional metropolitan areas.

Cybersecurity and space technology start-ups are set to fuel hiring in digital economies, reflecting the increasing demand for specialised skill sets. Additionally, skill-based hiring is likely to take precedence over diversity hiring goals, as deep tech and AI expertise become a focal point for companies looking to maintain a competitive edge.

Geographically, Bangalore remains the top talent hotspot, accounting for 35 per cent of India’s tech workforce, followed by Delhi-NCR at 20 per cent, Hyderabad at 20 per cent, Pune at 15 per cent, and Chennai at 10 per cent. The rest of India has also become an attractive talent pool, with remote working options, enabling professionals to relocate to non-metro regions. Companies are increasingly tapping into this broader talent base, particularly for AI-driven roles, marking a shift in hiring patterns.

“The findings from the Instahyre Tech Salary Index 2025 indicate a clear evolution in India’s tech hiring landscape. As organisations adapt to the changing demand for skills and embrace newer hiring strategies, professionals who invest in upskilling and specialisation will remain at the forefront of career growth,” said Sarbojit Mallick, Co-founder of Instahyre.
